Garh Jaisal ~ Jaisalmer Hotel ~ www.garhjaisal.com |
|
Jaisalmer Fort, Rajasthan, India |
|
On the ancient trade route, in the heart of the Thar Desert is Jaisalmer, a remote settlement populated by palaces and havelis.
Sandstone architecture is predominant with abundant rooftop vistas, charming facades and winding streets and pathways.
The golden Jaisalmer Fort, over 800 years old, crowns the Trikuta Hill. Within its walls, defended by 99 turrets, lies the old city. From the city, to view the fort is almost identical to what was seen by merchants on their overland camel caravans to central Asia.
The fort stands almost 30 metres over the city and houses an entire living area within huge ramparts. Seven years in the making, the fort's newest abode is your home in the desert, welcome to Garh Jaisal!
Jaisalmer is famous for embroidery, rajasthani mirror work, rugs, blankets, antiques and old stone work. Tie-dye and other fabrics are made and color abounds everywhere.
We bring you inspired creations by local artisans and encourage you to immerse and have fun with our culture and creativity. |

Each of the seven rooms in our Jaisalmer Fort Hotel are built with the most thoughtful of appointments and comfort. Contemplate your moment in time overlooking this medieval city ~ sipping a nicely spiced chai from your window seat
All rooms feature a king size bed with quality linens, private bathroom with hot water shower, beautiful rich wood furniture and comfortable seat pillows to enjoy the view below your palatial retreat
Your comfort is important and please feel free to ask any questions in advance and also while you are visiting us
Many people book for 2 nights and then decide to stay longer as Jaisalmer has so much more than you would expect. Consider making your plans for at least 4 nights, as you may not want to leave the Fort for a couple of days. The palace, Jain temple, main square for people watching and spending time on the rooftop deck in awe of where you are on the planet can take at least 2 days! Then wander through the market and explore the daily life within the streets of the city. Talk to people, play with children, sip a chai and barter for unique handicrafts, jewellery and textiles. Have fun with it!!!
Then take a day and relax and prepare for your trek into the desert, for your trip would not be complete without a few hours on camelback or better yet, stay overnight under the unobstructed sky. The desert is clean, safe and unlike any other experience you will have in India. The camels are friendly and gentle ~ your guides welcome you into their way of life and are happy to share stories and answer questions.
Again, in preparation for your trip, please feel free to contact us with your questions and for our honest opinion
